The purpose of this role is to support the Senior Technical Claims Manager (Casualty) in the technical development of people, policy and process across all casualty teams.

You will actively contribute to the delivery of inspiring technical leadership across the whole of casualty claims, leading Claims Specialists, taking responsibility for and managing their motivation, development and performance.

Relationships – Identify and pursue opportunities to develop Customer relationships, working with the Underwriting and Risk Management teams to develop, implement and monitor Customer plans, including revenue generation targets and marketing initiatives, management of suppliers of choice, contribute, challenge and provide an alternative view with regards to the development and growth of the business.

You will support the Technical Claims Manager in the delivery of technical claims handling standards and strategy across the Department, including case reserving policy. Providing technical direction and leadership for external professionals, including loss adjusters and solicitors.

You will play an integral part in the overall leadership for the technical development of Casualty claims staff, the monitoring of technical competency and ensuring the need for technical succession is fulfilled. Promoting professional qualifications. Arranging and participating in technical training for the wider Company, Group, key partners and key customers through the claims academy.

Finally you will support the design, development and implementation of our fraud claims handling strategy, to ensure we continually improve our capability and meet our agreed targets.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • ACII / FCII/ LLB Qualified with significant Casualty experience.
  • Strong negotiation skills – both verbal and written.
  • A track record of developing Claims strategies and implementing across geographies.
  • technical claims handling standards and strategy across the Department, including case reserving policy. Providing technical direction and leadership for external professionals, including loss adjusters and solicitors.
