Senior Data Analyst – Insurance

Our client is a market leading Insurance company based in the City of London that is now looking for a Senior Data Analyst. The right candidate will come from an Insurance background with experience in analysing claims, financial and business data.
Your role will be to assist in the full data life-cycle analysis, to include specifying requirements from business partners, data importing activities and enhance management information and business intelligence tools. You will be providing support with both, new and existing portfolios.


Key tasks and objectives 
  • Acquire and import data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing data from internal and external sources, validating, importing and reporting on performance indicators to locate and correct issues.
  • Assist with development of tools for process management and ensure that cycle guidelines are adhered to.
  • Work closely with business managers to design comprehensive data reports and other business tools to enhance financial, statistical and management reporting.
  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets to identify anomalies or errors in sets of data.
Key technical skills, knowledge, professional qualifications required 
  • A strong working knowledge of the insurance sector ideally coupled with a financial background.
  • Experience of financial reporting and analysis relevant to both financial management and industry specific requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent computer skills – MS-Excel / MS-Access with VBA knowledge desirable and the ability to learn the operation of industry specific applications.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills at all levels.
  • Self-starter with an analytical approach to problem solving and demonstrable experience of having used own initiative.

  • Flexible and adaptable.
