Unum are looking for an inspirational, operationally experienced and customer focussed leader to drive the further development of our Broker Services function.
As one of the UK’s leading employee benefits providers, we provide employers with a range of products and services to support their employees when they need it most. These include; products such as income protection, sick pay insurance, critical illness cover, dental insurance and life insurance. We also work closely with employers to support their wellbeing strategies in the workplace and provide vocational rehabilitation support for employees to help them return to work. We have more than 45 years’ experience of providing benefits for UK employers and have relationships with many of the UK’s largest companies as well as thousands of small and medium sized businesses. Our traditional intermediated model means that we distribute our products and services primarily through brokers and our Broker Services team are therefore an essential link between Unum and our customers.
The function has undergone a period of significant and effective change over the last 3 years as we have invested in our core infrastructure and streamlined our structure and processes. We now have a great opportunity to establish ourselves as the service leader in our market as we focus relentlessly on providing an outstanding experience for our customers and distribution partners.
We are looking for someone who can display…
- A proven track record of building, shaping, motivating, developing and leading change in a large (100+ people), multi-site customer service operation to improve efficiency and customer outcomes plus the ability to lead, and build a leadership team to deliver a service with the customer at the heart of it.
- Previous experience of working in Financial Services and working in a regulated environment plus an appreciation of the opportunity to develop multi-channel service proposition.
- Excellent well-developed stakeholder management skills and experience at all levels.
This is a key role for our business and is accountable for driving the overall strategy and operational performance of the Broker Services Division. The teams are based across both Basingstoke and Dorking sites. This role sits on the Customer Services Leadership team and you will be expected to contribute to the achievement of Unum’s business objectives by developing, managing and implementing an effective and aligned customer servicing capability to enable Unum to achieve current and future objectives.
