PI / Media Liability Claims Handler
Your new company
Your new job as a Claims Technician, will be working for an established Insurance Broker in the heart of the West End. Your new Brokers have a strong service culture that supports customer retention and growth achieving significant success with clients including large corporate entities, leading international sports and entertainment stars and high net worth private clients. Due to substantial growth within the claims team a permanent position for a Claims Technician has arisen dealing with Professional Indemnity and Media Liability risk for the Media and Entertainment Industry.
Your new role
Your new role working as a Claims Technician handling PI and Media Liability risks, means you will provide an efficient, high quality and reliable Claims service to their niche clients. You will be responsible for creating new claims files upon receipt of new claims notifications, creating entries and updating financial records on the relevant system. You will liaise with and advise Clients on claims procedures as well as liaising with Loss Adjusters, Surveyors and/or Lawyers, colleagues and Insurers on claims. You will be negotiating settlement of claims with Insurers and their advisers and where required attend face to face meetings. You will be responsible for drafting and sending standard correspondence. You will be required to answer calls, using own judgement on the referral of callers to a senior colleague and ensure all information is accurately recorded. You will also liaise with the Accounts team when dealing with claims payments.
Your role will be handling all classes of PI & Media Liability Claims.
What you'll need to succeed
Your previous experience working within a Claims team handling Professional Indemnity or Media Liability related risks will contribute to your success in securing this role. You will demonstrate your ability deal with claims from first advice to settlement and able to prioritise workloads when multi-tasking ensuring that deadlines are adhered to. You will be computer literate and have a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and London Market IT systems. Your drive and motivation will allow you to adapt well into a diverse and growing team as well as having the confidence to develop and sustain relationships with Clients and Insurers. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and you will have confidence and technical expertise to use your own judgement to provide advice and seek help or advice from senior colleagues when required.
