Your new company
Your new job working as a PI Claims Handler will be for a specialist Independent Insurance Broker with offices based around the UK to include the City, Hertfordshire and West London who provide services to meet client demands and needs. They have more than 100 staff and are looking to expand that number further. Due to substantial growth within the PI team, a permanent position as a PI Claims Handler has arisen.
Your new role
Your new role working as a Claims Technician handling PI risks, means you will provide an efficient, high quality and reliable Claims service to their clients. You will be responsible for creating new claims files upon receipt of new claim notifications, creating entries and updating financial records on the relevant system. You will liaise with and advise Clients on claims procedures as well as liaising with adjustors, surveyors and/or lawyers, colleagues and insurers on claims. You will be responsible for negotiating settlement of claims with Insurers and their advisers and where required attend face to face meetings. You will be responsible for drafting and sending standard correspondence. You will be required to answer calls, using own judgement on the referral of callers to a senior colleague and ensure all information is accurately recorded. You will also liaise with the Accounts team when dealing with claims payments. Your role will be handling all classes of PI business to include Design and Construction etc.
What you'll need to succeed
Your previous experience working within a Claims team handling Professional Indemnity related risks preferably within Construction & Design will contribute to your success in securing this role. You will demonstrate your ability to deal with claims from first advice to settlement and be able to prioritise workloads when multi-tasking ensuring that deadlines are adhered to. You will be computer literate and have a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and London Market IT systems. Your drive and motivation will allow you to adapt well into a diverse and growing team as well as having the confidence to develop and sustain relationships with Clients and Insurers. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and you will have confidence and technical expertise to use your own judgement to provide advice and seek help or advice from senior colleagues when required.
