A new and growing MGA in London is currently recruiting for a Data Analyst to join the Operations team of this exciting Underwriting Agency

Overall Objective of Role:

To implement and maintain a data processing and reporting control framework that ensures a high level of data quality is maintained over all data received, processed and distributed by the business.
To ensure operational and MI analysis and reporting, including Bordereau, is delivered in line with best practice standards to meet the business obligations and requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

Bdx production and issuance:
Design and documentation of Bdx production and issuance process
Production of monthly bdx in line with timeline requirements as defined in the Binder agreements with carriers
Quality assurance of all data contained within the bdx, to include, extracted, calculated, derived data fields
Maintenance of external reference data used in the calculation or derivation of bdx data
Observance of appropriate signoff and authorisation processes
Application of appropriate controls around any manual manipulation of Bdx data
Liaison with IT team for Bdx development and / or issue resolution
Liaison with third party stakeholders in matters arising from Bdx processing
Reporting of Bdx production status and any issues/matters arising

Data Quality Assurance:
Design, development and implementation of data quality (completeness, accuracy and appropriateness) framework and controls
Documentation of data quality assurance processes and procedures
Design and oversight of process controls around all data processing throughout the data lifecycle
Monitoring of data quality, identification of data anomalies
Monitoring of data quality remediation activities
Reporting / escalation of data quality metrics and any material issues arising
Liaison with data entry/processing technicians, internal and outsourced, on defining data processing controls and best practice

Data Analysis and MI Reporting:
Define and document best practice standards and approach to development of business critical MI
Act as Business Analyst in the requirements gathering and design of business critical MI reporting to ensure business requirements and benefits are met
Develop / coordinate development of enhanced / new MI report and analysis
Ensure testing / QA / change control is in place to ensure the quality and reliability of all MI reporting

Reporting / Data Technology:
Constantly review and reassess technology in support of data processing and report production to ensure TMS model provides for optimum use of available technology to the benefit of the TMS business

Person Specification:
Strong data analysis and reporting background from within the Insurance Market (Ideally Bordereau experience)
Thorough understanding of relational database architecture
Advanced MSExel skills
Basic SQL skills
Strong understanding of data quality controls
Strong oral and written communication skills
