Acumen are excited to be working with a global business process management company who have partnerships with a large number of global insurers, reinsurers and InsurTech companies and are seeking a Group Reporting Accountant in London to join them to work on a newly formed international specialty insurer (Syndicate and MGA) with global operations. This is an extremely exciting opportunity to join a large established global company and work on a start-up insurance operation and take ownership of a range of operational tasks supporting the finance function.

The successful candidate should have broad knowledge of Insurance accounting, be familiar with industry regulatory reporting requirements and confident in interacting with senior stakeholders internally & externally.

  • Coordination and preparation of all Financial reporting, including but not limited to:

- Financial Statements (UK GAAP, US GAAP, STATS)

- Syndicate reporting

- Management reporting

- Operational reporting

- Investors reporting

- Other reporting

  • Manage GL, Expense Management and Financial reporting processes and teams
  • Assist actuarial team to gather data for the calculation of Pillar I capital requirements and reserves
  • Set-up technical accounting, GL and Expense Management processes from greenfield and assist in creating a global chart of accounts as per the lines of business and distribution channels
  • Provide inputs and drive system implementation (including ERP) as a Financial reporting SME
  • Provide assistance and work with wider Finance department on strategic projects as required
  • Review, interact, train and manage offshore resources in India and help to retain and build knowledge through process documentation and knowledge sharing


  • An qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA) or relevant accounting qualification
  • 5+ years’ experience in Insurance accounting (UK GAAP, US GAAP, STATS)
  • Knowledge of Syndicate accounting and reporting
  • Highly motivated self-start with strong integrity
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate pragmatism and firm judgment
  • Knowledge of SEC and US State reporting is a plus
