Procurement Manager - Insurance - FTC - 6 months

This leading International Financial services and Insurance group have this exciting opportunity to support them across all areas relating to procurement.

Reporting to the Head of Group Finance, Procurement Manager is to provide support to the Group by managing and coordinating procurement of goods and services. This role involves working with the business across all Group locations to ensure:

  • Goods and services procured are in line with business requirements.
  • Goods and services procured are compliant with statutory and regulatory obligations.
  • Appropriate suppliers are invited to quote for the provision of goods and services.
  • Conducting supplier due diligence.

Key responsibilities:


Procurement & Outsourcing:

  • Develop Policies and procedures for procurement, supplier management and outsourcing.
  • Have a thorough understanding of procurement tools and techniques relevant to group wide and departmental requirements.
  • Support the development and implementation of contract management and performance monitoring for strategic, corporate and other projects and contracts, including supplier management and stakeholder compliance e.g. Modern Slavery, AML, BCP etc.

Risk Management:

  • A good understanding of supply chain risk and mitigation strategies for group wide scope including legal risk, commercial risk, CSR risk, fraud risk and business continuity risk.
  • Knowledge and contribution to the departmental risk return. A good understanding of the legal aspects of contracting with suppliers.

Skills and knowledge required:

  • Good working knowledge of procurement and contracting strategies
  • Recent experience of Financial Crime and Modern Slavery legislation relating to procurement.
  • Ability to review and analyse data.
  • Thorough understanding of contract law principles and legal drafting.

Experienced required:

  • Demonstrable experience within a similar role
  • Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) part or fully qualified desirable.
