Commercial Underwriter

A leading Insurer is actively looking for an Underwriter to specialise in Commercial Combined insurance business.

The Underwriter will deal with Property and Casualty business with premiums from £15k to £500k, but mostly £20k to £250k. They will be supporting the Senior Underwriters with the view to developing their own underwriting license. The successful candidate will be given their own allocation of business and a Broker panel made up of major and strategic brokers i.e. well known nationals and large independents such as Towergate, Sutton Winson and Gallagher. This is a market facing role with the expectation to conduct meetings and develop market relationships autonomously.

The management team is open to people from either a Commercial Combined or Property led underwriting background. Ideally applicants will have some experience from a composite Insurer, though wouldn't rule out people from MGAs.
