The role

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join the Delivery team and support the implementation of the UK National Markets growth strategy. The Strategy Delivery function works with the Board and executive management to provide full research and development to inform and deliver strategic initiatives.

Working with a small experienced team in Leeds, but part of a larger national programme, the individual will be responsible for implementing business and technical solutions, within agreed timescales and budget. The programme comprises a range of initiatives supporting both front and back office operations, including but not limited to: new product launches, client management systems, workflow and invoicing improvements, and telephony upgrades.

Accountable for

  • Lead projects that support MINT UK strategic objectives
  • Ensure the project produces the required products within the specified tolerances of time, cost, quality, scope, risk and benefits
  • Manage and track the project from start up to closure to deliver new capabilities for business owners to realise and track the benefits.

Key accountabilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyse project proposals to determine time frame funding limitations and appropriate process for delivery
  • Ensure project goals established are achievable and in line with business objectives
  • Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, activities and tasks
  • Establish work plans and resourcing requirements per phases, iterations of schedule Direct and coordinate project activities ensuring the delivery of agreed quality and scope within time and budget limitations
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project team and consult with team and business stakeholders to outline the work plan
  • Assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority to project team
  • Monitor delivery progress and modify schedules or plans as required
  • Implement project communication plan
  • Perform risk assessment and implement mitigation plans
  • Establish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation that align with MINT / IDF governance standards
  • Establish good working relationships with business stakeholders, internal IT and external service providers

Skills & experience

Technical skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • Prince 2 or equivalent Project Management certification
  • Expert use of MS applications and project management tools, for the planning, tracking and manipulation of project plans, data and MI
  • Demonstrable experience of working in project management
  • Proven track record in driving delivery of complex projects to achieve defined business outcomes
  • Strong capability in project financial management
  • Strong change management / business improvement experience
  • Strong facilitation, communication & negotiation skills
  • Rigorous in planning and execution
  • Knowledge & experience of Agile delivery methodology desirable
  • Knowledge of centralised project portfolio management systems advantageous but not essential
