Job Title: Insurance Manager

Job Grade: 6

Office: AIM Guernsey

Reports to: Senior Insurance Manager

Overall Purpose

To assume responsibility for the day to day insurance servicing of a portfolio of captive clients,
ensuring that office and client business strategies, plans and insurance programme placements
are achieved and that client service excellence is provided.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Ensure all AIM and client deadlines in respect of insurance servicing issues are met at

all times.

2. Review of all insurance related matters for client Board meeting packs. Presentation of

insurance related matters to client Directors at Board Meetings.

3. Review of contract wordings and calculation of premiums (as required) to ensure

insurance programmes are fit for purpose and in compliance with relevant regulatory and
legislative requirements.

3. Responsible for development of sound business relations with client staff responsible for

insurance related matters.

4. Development of excellent working relationships with the following parties:

a) AIM colleagues working on client account
b) Guernsey Financial Services Commission
c) Auditors
d) Advocates
e) Local non-Executive Directors
f) Aon and other brokers / reinsurance brokers
g) Insurers and Reinsurers involved in client programmes

5. Consideration of current and existing client insurance programmes and development

thereof. Ensures clients are kept abreast of all relevant information in connection with
Aon, ACSG and the insurance markets worldwide.

6. Works closely with Senior Insurance Manager/Client Services Director/Operational

Executive and team colleagues on a proactive basis toward achieving both AIM and client

7. Acts as a resource for the Company in whatever capacity necessary in order to ensure

consistency of approach and the achievement of budgetary objectives.

8. Actively manages the identification and development and ongoing training/education of

staff working for the Manager.

9. Completes or assists in completing in any other projects or work as assigned by the

management team, delivering to any set timescale agreed.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Must hold an ACII qualification or be close to attaining the designation.

2. Have at least five years general insurance experience and a strong technical knowledge

of the insurance and reinsurance industry.

3. Possess a competent ability to assess, underwrite and price risk exposure.

4. Previous experience within the captive insurance industry is desirable.

5. Some experience in staff supervision would be beneficial.
