Not all do, but some insurance brokerages have this.
You know, that person who always get the stream of Handlers at their desk who are scratching their head with a technical issue…
- 'Can I pick your brain a minute on something?'
- 'You don't know so and so and x insurer do you?'
- 'Ah Ive got his case and, well, it's a real problem, can you help, please!'
It's the technical expert. The go-to problem solver. The one with the great market relationships.
Well this broker has just promoted theirs into a bigger role and need someone brilliant to fill the gap.
Your remit here is to act very much as the referral point for the complex cases and to look after the broking work for the larger clients.
There is a great team of handlers who are superb with the day to day standard case work so you wont be dragged into any of the less technical stuff.
You wont be managing them but you'll naturally act as a technical guide to them, supporting their technical development and taking ownership of the referral they need you for.
Your own handling remit will focus purely on the key clients who tend to have the demanding cases with problems and risks which are harder to solve and place.
The PI cases, cyber work and the risks which need a real lean on your market contacts to get them placed will all fall under your remit here.
And as you'll sit above the handling unit and work closer with the leadership team, you'll play a key role in market negotiations, placement and co-ordinating the technical strategy in line with the branch objectives.
It's a commercial team here who look after all types of client across engineering, construction, retail, property, technology, life sciences, financial lines and many more.
So if you thrive when your technical brain is put to the test and you enjoy delving into your black book of market contacts then you'll love this challenging role.
You'll need a background in commercial broking for this one.
As it's a rather unique role, you might want to find out a little more before applying which is no problem at all. Just get in touch.
