One of the leading Lloyd’s of London Insurance companies is looking for a BI Developer to join their BI Team and liaise with the wider business to support, enhance and develop data warehouse and Business Intelligence systems.

You will design, develop and test new reports, data extracts and ETL processes as required by project or work requests. The role will focus on the support and development of the existing data warehouse solution with opportunity to work on a major new BI/ Data Warehouse programme over the next couple of years.

General Activities & Key Tasks:
  • Maintain and support the data warehouse and associated applications
  • Liaise with users to specify, design and implement changes to the data warehouse as required by the business
  • Assist with the resolution of user problems and queries
  • Liaise with the IT department on changes to upstream and downstream systems to ensure that any impacts on the BI systems are identified and dealt with accordingly
  • Database, ETL, Report and OLAP development work
  • Monitor and maintain the integrity, performance and capacity of the data warehouse
  • Run month-end procedures and reports as required
  • Maintain change management controls for all system changes
  • Data analysis, reconciliation and manipulation as required
  • Work as part of the Business Intelligence Team to deliver a coordinated and evolving BI solution
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
  • Candidate must hold a degree in a relevant discipline with at least 2 year’s commercial experience with at least one of those years within a BI role
  • Knowledge of MS SQL Server
  • Good understanding of Database schema design
  • Exposure to T-SQL coding
  • Understand the principals of ETL design and development
  • Understand the principals of data modelling
  • Knowledge of data warehouse principles
  • Knowledge of problem analysis, structured analysis and design, and programming techniques
  • Independent thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal and time management skills
